This is Jasmine on her very own Gizzy quilt. This picture is from last summer, before she got so sick. I don't remember where I first heard about Millie, but I read her story from the very beginning and that is how I met Jasmine. Jasmine really never liked Millie and I could see her point of view. Millie invaded HER house and made friends with HER Gizzy and took the attention of HER Mom. That last one especially ticked Jasmine off. Jasmine had always been Mom's lap kitty and didn't want to share. I always had a soft spot for Jasmine. When Millie came, Jasmine wasn't expected to live long at all. That was in August, 2006. She had had mammary cancer and had a tumor in her eye. But Jasmine was a fighter. I think that she didn't want to leave Gizzy or her Mom and so she fought with everything she had to stay alive. Maybe when Gizzy went to the Bridge, she just gave up. Jasmine loved Gizzy very much. Maybe the two of them couldn't stand being apart any more, so Jasmine joined Gizzy at the Bridge. I am really going to miss reading about her grumpy ways and how she inspected each and every Gizzy quilt personally. You can read another limerick I wrote for Jasmine here.
Jasmine, sweet Jasmine, went and Crossed Over.
Now she and Gizzy are romping in clover.
Sad Mom's left behind;
With tears she is blind,
But she knows that sweet Jasmine's troubles are over.
