Farewell, Drebin

I had planned to write about Patches today, but then I decided to start alternating the fun limericks with the tributes now. This will give me a bit more time for research, as Patches' limerick is already written and alternating the limericks will, hopefully, keep me from giving myself a sad. I don't know much about Drebin at all. He didn't have a blog. His Dad worked with Mr. Tuck's Mom and he told her that Drebin had sneaked out of the door and disappeared on July 29th. His family looked and looked for him and found and adopted Oliver from a shelter in the process. Finally, Mr. Tuck's Mom learned that Drebin had been found around September 19th, but he had already gone to the Bridge. At least his family knows what happened to him, sad as it is. I am sure that he is having a great time at the Rainbow Bridge right now.

Drebin made his escape and ran away.
His Mama hunted for him night and day.
                                                        She found him at last,
                                                        But his life had passed.
Now he's at the Bridge, always at play.

first, we just read about your mom's passing. we are so sorry for your loss. what a lovely woman she was with a great smile! we always take comfort in that line from "Ghost" about how you take all the love with you. Your mom certainly had a lot of love to hold and take with her.

poor Drebin and his beans. i had not heard this. purrrrrrs perhaps he sent Oliver to his beans to help them cope with their loss.

i think alternating is a great idea. you do such a great job on the tributes, but it must take its toll on you.

we are thrilled you're considering getting a kitty! I'll be honest, mommy didn't really put anything away when I arrived. She just moved things to areas I'm not allowed. Like the piano top (tee hee hee since I still sneak up). What she does is leave just enough room in the front that if I do jump up, I don't knock anything over.

I've only broken 2 things since I arrived and mommy faults herself for one. I always tried to walk on the candlestick endtable and she kept trying to break me of the habit. I never learned and she insisted on keeping a pretty bowl on it. Well, you can figure out the ending. The other was a platter she left on the counter with crakers after the NYE party. I licked the crakers and the platter kept scooting and....

That's a lovely tribute to Drebin. It must have been very hard on his family, but at least little Oliver can comfort them. Thank you to caring and putting this tribute together,

Purrs
