Thanks to Skeezix for the graphic. It's just a few hours short of a week since Emil disappeared and that means that he is not coming back. I'll miss the little guy. He was just barely a year old. For those of you who think that we are giving up on him too early, I'll just go through the odds against him. It is normal this time of year for the temperatures in the Sonoran Desert to reach above 100 degrees F at midday. There is very little shade and less water. There are bobcats, coyotes, hawks and owls out there looking for a meal. He could have been bitten by a rattlesnake or stung by a scorpion and been hurt badly enough not to be able to make it home before dying of heat stroke or dehydration. I hate giving up on him, but there is just no chance for him to have survived. Goodbye, little buddy. I hope you are having a wonderful time at the Rainbow Bridge.

Emil you left us all too soon... but we know you'll have fun times with Anastasia and so many other of our dear fur friends... enjoy the sunsets across the bridge.
We are sad that Emil went to the Bridge so young. He can run free happy and safe there.
Leaky eyes here about Emil.
Although it is sad that he is uncertainly gone he is now with Anastasia. Mommy Bean always feared for her kittys and woofie whens she lived in Cottonwood and Casa Grande,Arizona.
That's so sad about Emil :-(
We were so sorry to hear about Emil
That's a beautiful graphic for Emil.

Karen Jo, thank you so very much for coming by and giving us condolences, and for putting up this tribute to Emil. We know, we remember, you did not want to have this happen again. We neither, believe us! We very much appreciate your not judging our staff for their decision to keep letting us out during the day in an environment as harsh and dangerous as the Sonoran desert. It is not an easy decision for them either, believe us, we know their anxiety about it. But we are very glad they do because we are just not the indoor kind of cats!
We are so sorry we had to bring sadness once again to you and the CB, we are very sad ourselves, we miss Emil a lot.
Thank you for still coming by!
Karl and Mrs. OZ
