I didn't know Charlie at all. The first time I visited her blog was when the Cat Blogosphere reported that she was very sick and purrayers were needed. I usually try to read up on the subject I am going to write a limerick about and give some facts, but in this case, I think all the facts I needed to know were that Charlie was very much loved by a huge number of beings and that her Mom is heart-broken. Charlie lived with her Mom for fifteen and a half years and leaves a huge hole in her Mom's life and heart. Her Mom wrote one of the most touching tributes I have ever read and you can find it
here. I don't feel I can add anything to that, but I will do a little limerick.
Beloved Charlie has crossed the Lake.
She only paused her thirst to slake --
Her youth to renew
So her heart so true
Could guide her to her Mom when she crosses the Lake.

I did not know Charlie either, but since I had dogs from 1973 until 2004, I know the huge hole they leave in your heart. One of these days, Gandalf and Grayson will have a dog brother!
A lovely limerick, Karen Jo.
That was a beautiful limerick for a beautiful doggie.
That is a lovely limerick.
Oh that's lovely, we didn't know Charlie either, but we can tell that she was a special girl.
Charlie leaves a large hole in a lot of hearts, especially his mom's. But she went on a number of adventures with Sassy, Karl and others, even had a part in the first or second (?) CCSI mystery.
Her mom's final two posts kept us in tears.
Oh Karen Jo, this gets so hard doesn't it? Meeting all these wonderful furbabies and crying right along when they go to the Rainbow Bridge. You wrote another lovely poem. Charlie was so pretty. I just pray the rest of the week is better for our bloggie friends.
Hugs,
Lorianna
That was a beautiful limerick. It is so hard to lose your beloved pet after so long.

There is never a good time to lose someone you love, human or animal. When the love is special, you feel as though you have been knocked to your knees and a cold wind is blowing through your heart.
(we messed up our above comment so deleted it)
We didnt know Charlie either but we did read bouts hers when her crossed the lake. It madedid the mom's eyes leak lots. She finds it hard to read all the sadness lately. We is sure Charlie wud loves hers limerick as much as we love it.
