Saturday was the last day of my vacation and I spent Saturday night lying on my bed watching videos until I fell asleep. I never turned the computer on Saturday at all. When I got back online, I was shocked and horrified to learn that Monty Q's sweet little Sprout had gone to Heaven. I was too overwhelmed to blog about it last night, so I am doing it now. I had a lot of time at work tonight to think about what I would write. I could try to put into words how sad I am that this happened, but that would take a much better writer than I am to express just how I am feeling and how sorrowful I am for Sprout's family. I could rant and rail about just how unfair life can be, but that really wouldn't do any good. I decided the best thing I could do would be to help the Cat Blogsphere spread the word about what you can do to help.
Millie's Mom Lynne is Sprout's godmother and really needs to go to the funeral, but she doesn't have enough green papers. You can donate at the Cat Blogosphere here. You can join in Beau's auction here. You can join in Grr, Midnight and Cocoa's auction here. Any funds left over will go toward Sprout's medical bills. At the same Cat Blogsphere link, you can find out how to send a scrap of fabric with your name and the names of your furries to make a wrap to wrap little Sprout in, which is a request from Sprout's Mom, Tracey. Here, you can find a link to light a candle for Sprout and find out how to send a card to Monty Q's family.
I hope that this will help any of you with that devastating "Oh, this is so sad, but what can I do?" feeling.

We tried to help out as much as we could but it doesn't take away that sick to your stomach feeling. The PM is still weepy this morning. She was sorting pictures and found one of the wee-est one at the same age as sweet Sprout. Such tragedy but everyone seems to be rallying to help which is so wonderful.
Purrs to you,
Shade
Karen Jo, We are all so devastated about this. We are glad you are spreading the news on ways to help.

Thanks for spreading the word Karen Jo. We are still shocked and very leaky about this. We can not even imagine what poor Monty's fambly is going through. Our prayers are with them and our hearts break for them.
This seems perfect at a time where there are few words. We are still pretty leaky here, and our hearts are breaking for them all.
We are very very sorry to learn about little Sprout's loss..we are sending our prayers to her family..so much sadness in the cat blogosphere these days..
We agree with you. We had to borrow words from someone else to even come close to how we feel.
We are keeping them in our thoughts and prayers forever since they will always have that empty chair.
That is a wonderful post, Karen Jo.
You are right. There are not adequate words enough in the world to convey the mixture of emotions we are still feeling over the loss of Violette, and the empathy we feel for her family.
Yes, this is such a sad event. We can't put into words how we feel either.
Luf, Us
It is good to find ways that we can each help. Also, many hugs to you during this time of terrible sadness.
Karen Jo - That is a purrfect post. Thanks for putting all the links together. We are all just heartbroken about little Miss Sprout.

I was also shocked with the news Karen. I was away too. I'm glad you spread the words around on how to help out Little Sprout's family.

Karen Jo,
we were shocked just like everyone. Mom still gets leaky eyed thinking about it.
We'll miss Violette's beautiful smile.
It is a wonderful post, Karen Jo. I was with Lynne when she found out and I was as shocked as everyone. I cannot find sense in this so random act. It will be a while before normal is really normal.
