
I don't have a limerick ready for today, so I thought I would show you the photo I took of what the gopher did this winter under the snow. This section of my front yard looks like a little maze. I find it fascinating. You may click on the picture to biggify it. In warm weather, the gophers stay underground and you just see a few mounds, but in the winter, they build these tunnels above the ground, but under the snow. When the snow melts, they go back underground. This is probably the work of just one gopher.
Yikes! The grass isn't going to like that too much!!

ReplyDeleteWe don't have gophers here. I wonder why they do that under the snow? You would think they would stay under ground in cold weather.
